Rockleigh, NJ, July 1, 2011 – Crestron today announced that the DGE-2 Digital Graphics Engine, its revolutionary extreme graphics processor for Crestron V-Panel™ high-definition touch screens, is now available. With a simple single-wire connection, DGE-2 lets users view content from multiple video sources such as DVD/Blu-ray players, PC and Mac^® computers, the Internet, video conferences, security cameras and more, in multiple windows on any V-Panel display. Installations are now easier than ever with long distance one-wire connectivity. Simply connect to any V-Panel with a single cable while the DGE-2 and related AV source wiring remains hidden away back at the main equipment rack. Industry leading HDMI^® connectivity with HDCP support makes V-Panel the only touch screen that enables reliable viewing of content-protected DVD, Blu-ray Disc^®, digital HDTV, streaming video, and multimedia computer sources.

The innovative and versatile multimedia capabilities of DGE-2 make it ideal for the classroom, boardroom, command center or in the home. With a wide choice of HDMI and multi-format analog inputs, DGE-2 enables simultaneous viewing of two different HD sources such as a Blu-ray player or content from a PC or Mac, each in individual fully-scalable windows. At the same time, you can also view streaming video from IP or wired security cameras, video conferencing codecs and streaming web content from video sites like YouTube^®, Hulu^® and Vimeo^®.

 

While simultaneously controlling the home, boardroom, or lecture hall with finger touch simplicity, the DGE-2 provides everything needed for enjoying online music and movies, viewing Web pages and accessing most types of digital media without the need for a separate computer. DGE-2 comes with a built-in PC engine that combines advanced touch screen graphics performance with embedded PC apps including Windows Media^® Player, Internet Explorer®, Adobe® Acrobat® Reader, and Microsoft® Word, Excel®, and PowerPoint® document viewers.
