The M310 OTDR is specifically designed to address the technical challenges associated with today’s enterprise network architectures. The M310 integrates AFL's TruEvent™ Technology, allowing users to confidently determine where losses meet or exceed network specifications. TruEvent advanced event analysis software more accurately detects, locates and measures network events such as splices, connectors, breaks and macro-bends.

The M310 is easy to use (Touch and Test®), comes standard with integrated Source, Power Meter and VFL, and is compatible with the DFS1 connector inspection probe. No surprise 'add-on' charges for these commonly needed support functions.

  • Industry Leading TruEvent™ analysis ensures event reporting accuracy
  • Short dead zones provide testing of closely spaced events
  • Integrated Source, Power Meter and VFL
  • Live fiber detection prevents damage to network equipment
  • Front Panel and First Connector Check ensures accurate measurements
  • Inspection capable with DFS1 Digital FiberScope
  • Dynamic Range up to 38dB
  • Multiple languages supported
  • 16 hour battery run time
  • Automatic Pass/Fail Analysis (TIA/ISO)
  • Built-in Optical Light Source (OLS) - Provides light source for Tier 1 testing convenience
  • Built-in Optical Power Meter (OPM) - Test and store both Tier 1 and Tier 2 results in one unit
  • Built-in Visual Fault Locator (VFL) - Quickly identify fiber faults and verify polarity
  • Fast, Real Time OTDR mode - Use in troubleshooting or splicing applications
  • Truly hand-held - Compact, rugged product packaging is designed for outside use and cramped inside plant environments
  • Easy to read results - M310 OTDR reports both the traditional OTDR trace and an event table clearly showing pass/fail results on one screen. This easy to interpret table allows less skilled technicians to effectively use the OTDR
  • International Language Support - User interface available in English, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish and Turkish
  • M310 Touch and Test® supports users of all levels
Full Auto Mode - Connect and press test. M310 will detect fiber and set recommended test parameters. Perfect for novice technicians or repair techs quickly looking for faults on fiber spans of unknown length
Auto-Once Mode - Designed for testing cables with multiple fibers. M310 performs a full auto test on the first fiber and retains recommended settings allowing fast testing of subsequent fibers
Expert Mode - Provides access to testing parameters for experienced users to configure optimal testing scenarios for specific networks
Real-Time Mode - Continuous OTDR operation and display update, allows users to dynamically change networks while monitoring OTDR trace results. Example: relaxing fiber bends to reduce attenuation loss
  • Data Storage and Reporting Capabilities (TRM™ 2.0)
Thousands of test results may be stored internally or on the supplied USB drive. Easily transfer test results to computer - via USB cable or USB drive - for viewing, printing, and analyzing with the supplied Windows® compatible TRM™ 2.0 Basic Analysis and Documentation Software
  • Applications:
    • Test, troubleshoot and document networks with closely spaced events
    • Tier 1 and Tier 2 testing and certification of SM and MM networks
    • Enterprise network, Data Center, LAN/WAN
    • Document and create standards compliant acceptance reports with TRM™ 2.0, companion PC software
    • Test and troubleshoot networks up to 250 km
    • Test and certify campus and central office networks, and Distributed Antenna Systems (DAS) fiber infrastructure
